1. Do you specialize in babies and children?Yes, babies and children are my favorite subjects to photograph. I can connect with them because I have experience as a newborn and pediatric nurse as well as a mom. It's important that the person you choose has experience interacting with children and knowing the ways to capture their personality, not just being able to take pictures with a camera.

2. Do you bring a backup camera to the session?A backup camera, and several lenses, several memory cards ensure that your session will not come to an abrupt end because the photographer's equipment doesn't work. I bring so much with me, sometimes it looks as if I am moving in. I come prepared for all types of light and conditions.

3. Do you use a flash? Do you bring studio lights to the session? "Natural light only" photographers may have to compromise on a dark day, or not be able to shoot in your child's room/nursery due to "lighting issues". Having the option to use another light source can be invaluable. Yes, I have a flash and a backup flash, as well as completely portable studio lights.

4. How many images will I be able to choose from in my gallery? 25-50 in a standard session (with it usually being closer to 50, because I want you to have lots of choices and expressions) and twice as many with the deluxe session. Sometimes a short session time (with a cheap session fee) means that you will not have a wide variety of images to choose from. Make sure that your session includes enough time for wardrobe changes, snack breaks, location changes, close up, environment shots, and lifestyle and connections. Variety and quality take time, make sure that you choose a photographer that shows more than the close up, look at the camera and smile shot. The more time a professional photographer spends with your family, the greater the likelihood you will get a wide variety of quality images.

5. Do you offer digital files and how much do you charge? Everyone wants them. It ensures that you can make as many prints as you want for albums, scrapbooks, grandma and grandpa, put a copy of the CD in a fireproof safe, add to your personal web pages, etc. If you can get high quality digital files and print them yourself, you will save big. Yes, my biggest and most popular product by far. My clients know the good deal they get and love it.

6. How long does it take after my session to view the images? The sooner you can view the images, the sooner you can order and receive your products. No one wants to receive their newborn session images on their child's 2 month birthday. Make sure that your photographer can deliver your product quickly. I often have your gallery up for viewing within 2 days! I have a system down after 4 and a half years of editing images for clients and after you order, you frequently receive your order in less than a week. Talk about turn around!
