When should I have my maternity portraits taken?
There is no set time to document this time in your life. You may decide to have portraits taken each trimester of your pregnancy, or you may wish to wait until the last 6 weeks to fully document the changes in your body as it prepares to deliver a new life. The "best" time is normally between 33-37 weeks gestation, as the baby has gotten big enough to push out and you are visably pregnant (but not uncomfortably so). It is entirely up to you and the vision you have for your portraits.

What should I wear and bring/have at my maternity session?
There are many thing you can do to enhance the portraits and make them unique and original. A colorful shawl with fringe, several yards of rich fabric (silk, satin, taffeta or even a gauze fabric) for wraping and draping (pick a fabric that is your favorite color as well as a contrasting color), a couple tank tops in different colors, a scarf, a real flower (tulips, poppies, and gerbera daisies are a colorful choice), a flowy sundress, a non- maternity skirt with an elastic waist (to pull under your belly), a teddy bear or favorite toy from your childhood, body paint, an ultrasound picture, an ice cream cone with sprinkles, your husband or significant other, your mother and/or grandmother and anything/anyone else that you feel would make your pregnancy portraits special.

Do you offer a combination collection for maternity and newborn sessions? What about birth announcements?
